Ultimago: Earning money with free images

You have images that are not good enough for stock agencies, you think? Or old images that have already seen there best times and are hidden on page 1.245 in the 20 mio vast archives? That's a lot of unused potential!

All these images will get a chance or a "second life" on the new and independant platform Ultimago. At Ultimago, users can download images for free - for private and limited commercial use. There are premium or merchandising memberships for extended commercial uses. Ultimago earns money with membership fees, advertising revenues, donations and revenue of distribution partners. This revenue will be equally shared with you, our photographers. For every download, you will get your fair share of 50%.

Besides the additional income, you profit from:

• Unused potential: There is a lot of potential hidden on
  your hard drive. Also, a lot of images in your stock agency portfolio that is good enough, but faces too much competition
  or is just a couple of years old, are still waiting to be turned
  into money!
• Market yourself: Each customer has to put a backlink to your image and to Ultimago in return for downloading your image
  for free. This drives a lot of traffic to your profile on ultimago.
  Once they are on your profile, send them to your preferred stock agency! 
• Upselling: Use your public profile to redirect customers of your topsellers on PantherMedia.
• Cross-selling: Images on Ultimago can also be printed
  directly on canvas and other material. This way, you can also earn money.

Photographers from PantherMedia have many advantages.
This is how it works:

• Sign up with Ultimago as photographer.
• In the settings of your account, you can verify yourself as a PantherMedia photographer by using your PantherMedia credentials. This way you don’t have to verify via PayPal
  or by sending a copy of your ID.
• You can access your PantherMedia portfolio directly on the Ultimago upload-page. Import selected images (e.g. no sales,
  no clicks) from PM to Ultimago. All images accepted by the PantherMedia inspectors are automatically transferred
  from your PM-account to your Ultimago account, if you wish!
• Additionally, you can upload new images via FTP
  or web-upload. Model and property releases don’t have to be uploaded, but need to be provided upon request.
  The upload-process is reduced to a minimum and is very fast.

New pricing scheme at PantherMedia

This summer, we are going to introduce a new pricing scheme.

This way, we combine two important goals: First, we boost sales opportunities for each image based on its download history.

Second, we want to introduce different pricing levels for different needs.

Do you know this problem? Images uploaded years ago dissapear in
the depth of our archive with now more than 17 million images and
can barely be found. On the other hand, the most actual and lavishly produced images are featured prominently, but are offered for the same price. We want to break up this catch-22 by introducing three different pricing tiers: BLUE, RED and BLACK.

The customer's benefit is obvious. Depending on budget and type of usage, customers are willing to pay a smaller or higher price for an image. After all, it makes a difference for the customer if he wants
to use the image only for one day on a blog or if the image is used
on the cover of a corporate brochure.

What does that mean for you as a contributor?

• Old or unsold images get a second chance
• New and elaborate images are sold at higher prices
• The sales opportunities for images of all categories will improve
• The average price at panthermedia.net increases

Legal Info: You can deactivate your participation in BLACK in the contributor portal -> policy management at the earliest on 28 August 2012. If you do not agree with the new pricing scheme, you can delete your images or cancel your membership at PantherMedia within a period of two weeks as stated in the Author Licence Agreement.

New Rights-Managed Licenses

As you know, PantherMedia is already working with a lot of partners with new business models, e.g. printing poster on demand.
This part of our business (special licenses) has increased tremendously over the last months. Hence, we introduce "Rights-Managed Licenses". This enables us to licenses and fees on a case-to-case basis to expand our huge network of partners.

RM Licenses are optional. You can activate or deactivate these licenses in the contributor portal at "Policy Management". Per definition, rights managed licenses are activated. Please decide within the coming 14 days.

We expect further growth be selling RM images within our network of distributors and by winning new partners for exciting new ways to use images.

Introducing our new international platform PantherStock

Focused on customers with a regular need for images, we proudly introduce our new subscription platform: pantherstock.com.

This platform is currently in Beta and available in 4 languages – German, English, Spanish and Portugese. The terms and conditions for customers as well as for contributors are the same on panthermedia.net and pantherstock.com.

PantherStock impresses with a simple way to buy images, sleek design. Professional search filters and a broad selection of high-class imagery. All images opted-in for the PantherMedia subscription are integrated into pantherstock.com.

Image Packages

Also new and in beta on pantherstock.com: image packages. This new product works like this: Customers puchase a package of images in Web or XXL resolution for a fixed price and can download these images with in one year.

Buongiorno PantherMedia Italia

We are delighted to inform you that PantherMedia is also available in Italy since the 1st of March 2012.

We are looking forward to taking new opportunities in Italy with a local italian website and an experienced team in our Milan office.

In cooperation with the team in Munich we have already started our first marketing activities.

We are now offering rights managed and premium royalty free images to our customers. We do not mix our microstock offering with rights-managed images, this is why we operate our additional and independent website glowimages.de.

The combination of these different products on two logically separated platforms enables us to cross sell different products to one target group and leverages the success of both platforms: customers of glowimages.de are also offered PantherMedia microstock images on panthermedia.net, while PantherMedia customers can also buy additional rights managed images on glowimages.de. However, the customer gets a full-service from the same team. We attract more customers for both platforms, thus raising your and our revenue.
